For me, the mountains have never just been places to visit, they’ve been a way of life. Over the past 30 years, I’ve climbed high-altitude trails, rugged passes, summits and untouched valleys across India and the world. I’ve seen sunrises above tree lines, crossed glaciers with crevasses, waded through swelling streams, and learned what it means to push past your limits when the terrain tests everything you have.

But through all these journeys, one thing always stood out: the lack of high-quality trekking gear in India.

I have had to shop for my outdoor apparel abroad, and realised these products were designed for other environments, not ours. The conversations with fellow trekkers would circle back to the same question:

“Why don’t we have better gear here that’s built for us?”

This question became the genesis for Cynili. 

I founded Cynili to redefine outdoor apparel for India. To create gear that moves with you, shields you, and performs when it matters most. Every piece is designed with care, precision, and functionality, rooted in the real needs of trekkers navigating diverse terrain.

But Cynili is more than just gear. It’s my way of giving back to the mountains that shaped me, and to the community of explorers who feel most alive out there. My vision is simple: make sure everyone who dreams of the trail has access to apparel they can trust, so they can climb higher, venture further, and truly connect with the outdoors.
